1st Monotangle
Along with Zen drawings, I have been trying my hand at tangling coloured square tiles with strings from Tangle Patterns. Zentangle for me is all about the state of mind I am in while tangling. Today, I decided to use the TanglePatterns String 002 on a 4.5 by 4.5 inch yellow tile.
This string divides the tile in 8 parts and provides an opportunity to use 8 different tangles in each section. I had initially decide to tangle in each of these sections that the strings form. I first tangled Crescent Moon in the smallest section of my tile. As I progressed through this section, I realised I wanted to use Crescent moon as the solo tangle for this tile. I also realised that filling up all sections with the tangle pattern may make it look clumsy. So in the end, I tangled 4 sections with Crescent moon and left the other 4 blank.
I love the final look of my tile. Hope you all like it too

Tangling String 125
Strings are an integral part of Zentangle Art. South African tangler Cathy Clifford shared the TanglePatterns String 125 on tanglepatterns.com. I have used it on a light blue 3.5 by 3.5 inch tile for this tangle

Zen Tortoise & Snail
Tortoise & Snail both are known for their slow walk and they signify the old age saying that "Slow & Steady Wins The Race".
The famous "Hare and Tortoise" story has a sequel with a snail in it (Read: Snail in the "Hare & Tortoise" Story) which further signifies that one should not be arrogant and over-confident rather one should be humble and work towards his goal without fear of failure. The Snail and Hare story also gives out the same valuable lessons that "Slow And Steady Wins The Race"

Tanglicious Coloricious
Colours add a new dimension to ZIA and its a lot of fun to make a coloured ZIA. For this one, I drew shapes and tangled within them. Thereafter, I coloured the entire ZIA using Staedtler Water Soluble Colour Pencils - 137 C48.
Hope you love this coloured ZIA.
