Falling Hearts - It's a string thing #77

Last week of January is here. What a fun month it has been so far with all the Zentangle challenges. So the first Zentangle dare of this week that we are participating is the "It's a String Thing #77".

The challenge was to use tangle pattern string 77 and tangles Heartrope, Heartstrings, Heartvine and
Luv-a.

The special thing about this challenge was that all tangles were renditions of heart. I call it falling hearts and the thought behind doing this was to shower love on one and all who see this and thus, falling hearts.

Here is our entry to the challenge

It's a string thing #76

This weeks challenge was Its a string thing #76. We had to use String 084 and tangles Fjord, Oolo and trumpits.

We used all 3 tangles and used a small variation of Oolo or as we want to call it "half oolo" in a section.

Joey's Weekly Challenge #44

It's Joey's son's 10th birthday this week and so she choose tangle string 10 and tangle pattern Joy for this week's challenge.

So instead of tangling a simple tile, we decided to convert our tangle into a cake for the birthday boy.

Here's wishing all the Joy & Happiness to the birthday boy from Tanglicious Connections.

It's a String Thing #75

This is our second entry to the "It's a String Thing" Challenge. This weeks challenge was Its a string thing #75. We had to use String 075 and tangles Bales, Echoism, Ennies, Poke Leaf  and/or Poke Root.

Adele Bruno who hosts the "It's a String Thing" Challenge, was very sweet to share some great tangelations of Bales. So we decided to do use these tangelation in string 075. Thank you Adele, it was great fun using these tangelations of Bales.

We are learning with help of these great tangle challenges.

Colour v/s Black and White

We did a colourful tile for a It's a string thing #74 challenge. We decided to do a black and white version of the same using Microns. Here are the 2 tiles for comparison.

Black & White Tile

Colourful Tile

Though, still a long way to perfect the tangles, we personally love the black & white version more than the colourful one.

"It's a String Thing" #74

Tickled to Tangle blog by CZT Adele Bruno hosts a Zentangle challenge called Its a String Thing.

The very 1st challenge of the year 2015 is It's a String Thing #74. The challenge was to use the TanglePattern String 74 and use the tangle patterns TwiztedLealad and Kiss.

I decided to do a colourful tangle on a lemon yellow tile of 3.5" by 3.5" and incorporated all the 3 patterns in my tangle.

I have fallen in love with Twizted. I know there is a long way to go before I perfect this tangle, but I am sure I am going to use this a lot in my upcoming tanglicious projects. I want to add a special thanks to Adele Bruno for tips on drawing Twizted.

I also like the simplicity of Lealad and Kiss. I decided to do Lealad in 2 colours to add an extra dimension to the Tangle design.

Hope you love our Tangles. Please do leave your valuable feedback. It helps us improve our work & is very encouraging.

Feeling Lucky: Joey's weekly tangle challenge #42

Hi.

Both of us at Tanglicious Connections are new to Zentangle and what better way to learn different tangle patterns than to participate in various Zentangle Challenges.

Most Zentangle Challenges are non-competition challenges meant to showcase your work and learn from work of other tanglers.

This is the 1st Zentangle Challenge that we have participated in.

This challenge was Joey's weekly tangle challenge #42. The challenge was to use Tangle String 15 from Texas CZT®, Courtney Frantz and use the CZT® Adele Bruno's tangle pattern Lucky.

I drew 2 tiles with string 15.

1st Tile: I used different variations of Lucky in my first tile ad left some negative space

2nd tile: I used Lucky in 2 different sections of the string and filled in the rest of the place with other tangles.

This is the 1st time that I have used tangle Lucky. Thank you Joey for this challenge. I hope to participate in many more challenges and learn more tangle patterns in the process.

Please do give your feedback. Would help us improve and better our work.

1st Monotangle

Along with Zen drawings, I have been trying my hand at tangling coloured square tiles with strings from Tangle Patterns. Zentangle for me is all about the state of mind I am in while tangling. Today, I decided to use the TanglePatterns String 002 on a 4.5 by 4.5 inch yellow tile.

This string divides the tile in 8 parts and provides an opportunity to use 8 different tangles in each section. I had initially decide to tangle in each of these sections that the strings form. I first tangled Crescent Moon in the smallest section of my tile. As I progressed through this section, I realised I wanted to use Crescent moon as the solo tangle for this tile. I also realised that filling up all sections with the tangle pattern may make it look clumsy. So in the end, I tangled 4 sections with Crescent moon and left the other 4 blank.

I love the final look of my tile. Hope you all like it too

Tangling String 125

Strings are an integral part of Zentangle Art. South African tangler Cathy Clifford shared the TanglePatterns String 125 on tanglepatterns.com. I have used it on a light blue 3.5 by 3.5 inch tile for this tangle
